In addition to being painful and unsightly, ingrown toenails can, in some cases, lead to a foot infection if not treated early, causing further discomfort and embarrassment. We will look at all potential causes footwear or trauma prior to this route. However most that enter the clinic tend to be inflamed or infected and antibiotics will be required. Nail surgery is an ideal solution to this condition. We carry out this minor surgical process under local anaesthesia and in a relaxed environment for you the patient.
Our Nail Surgery Involves:

A small number of pre operative tests are performed prior to surgery

A local anaesthetic is used to numb the area, normally at the base of the toe on either side.

Part of, or the whole nail section is removed

The nail bed is treated with a chemical which kills the nail bed

The toe is then rapped with sterile dressing to keep it comfortable and protect the area post surgery

A full explanation is given and post operative sheet will be given

Typically the site is dry 2-6 weeks at which time normal activities can resume
